Carolina Jones is the mother of Mary Albertine Jones , a Burwell student and the grandmother of Carrie Waitt, who purchased the Burwell School in 1895 with her husband Dr. John Sanford Spurgeon, and and the property remained in family hands until 1965 when it was sold to the Historic Hillsborough Commision [1].

Story

Carolina Jones of Hillsborough married Richard M. Jones and had two children: Dr. Clarence D. Jones and Mary Albertine Jones , a Burwell student.

Mary Albertine Jones  married George Nathaniel Waitt and had two children: George, Nathaniel Waitt, Jr. and Carrie Waitt.

Carolina Jones is buried in Hillsborough Town Cemetery along with her husband, children, grandchildren, and son-in-law [1].
