The mother of two Burwell Students, Sarah Campbell married Ransom Sanders in 1835. They had 5 children before his death in 1844. In later life, Sarah married Alexander Miller and is buried under the name Sarah Campbell Miller in Cumberland County, NC.
Story
Ransom Sanders, a planter and descendant of early 18th century settlers in what became Johnston County, and his second wife, Sarah Campbell had two daughters: Sarah Elizabeth Sanders and Lauretta Winifred Sanders , both Burwell School students. Ransom Sanders was the son of Reuben Sanders, and the grandson of Hardy Sanders. Sarah Campbell was the daughter of James Campbell [1].
