Married to Mary Louisa Vasseur (1813-1868), William Henry Brown(1809-1865) was a tanner and shoemaker in Hillsborough where he moved in 1840. In the US Federal Censuses of 1850 and 1860 his occupation was listed as farmer. His tannery was located West of Hillsborough. He also owned Dimmock's Mill and several properties in the town of Hillsborough. The Ancestry.com public member trees differ as to how many children he and his wife had. One lists 12 children, another lists 15 children. Two of his children Charlotte Ann Brown (1838-1880) and Laura H. Brown (1840-1915) attended the Burwell School.
