Mary Louisa Vasseur (1813-1868), born in Virginia, and William Henry Brown (1809-1865) were married in Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina, in 1830. They moved to Hillsborough, Orange County, NC in 1840. The Ancestry.com public member trees differ as to how many children they had. One lists 12 children while another lists 15 children. Her parents were Charlotte Ann Layssard (1789-1856) and Toussaint Vasseur who died ca. 1815. Little could be found about him. Charlotte Ann Layssard immigrated to the United States from the West Indies. Mary Louisa Vasseur Brown died in Hillsborough, NC. in 1868 [1].
