Eliza Faison, Mary Amelia’s older sister, married Patrick Murphy (1801-1874) in 1833. The Murphy’s were generous benefactors to Burwell School. Mary Amelia attended school with Mary Bailey Murphy and Susan Mosley Murphy, twin daughters of Eliza Ann and Patrick Murphy.
