Story

Isabella Brown Venable and Martha Elizabeth Venable  were daughters of Abraham Watkins Venable. Abraham Watkins Venable was a distinguished gentleman from Granville County who had been educated at Hampden-Sydney College and Princeton University who applied his studies at the bar and politically. His political career included stints as a United States Congressman and also as a Congressman to the Confederate States of America.

Isabella Brown Venable is listed in the Burwell School Catalogue of 1848-51 [1]. She married Captain Stephen Taylor Martin, a Presbyterian minister, with whom she had six children [2].
