Edward Speed was born on August 25, 1808, in Smithfield, VA, USA. He died on April 17, 1859, and was buried in Speed-Taylor-Young-Renuart Cemetery in Oxford, NC. Edward Speed died April 17, 1859 and was buried at the Speed-Taylor-Young-Renuart Cemetery at the Thomas Henry Speed I home located on the west side of Cannady Mill Road, 10 miles south of Oxford on the Tar River [1].
