Charles B. Easley attended the Hillsborough Military Academy during some of the time that his younger sister Mary Bailey Easley attended the Burwell School. He married a Burwell student, Sallie Brooks (or Brookes), of Halifax County. Their farm was “Charlie’s Hope” in southern Halifax County, VA. Sallie died in her thirties, and Charles Easley remarried and moved away.

Brooks of Black Walnut, Va, married Charles B. Easley of Halifax County. Charles Bruce Easley was the brother of Mary Bailey Easley, another Burwell student from Halifax County.
