Bingham School operated in various NC communities. The original Bingham School was founded by William Bingham at Hillsborough in 1813. His son William J. Bingham operated a school in Hillsborough that was known both as Bingham School and Hillsborough Academy. The school was relocated to Alamance County. In 1891, brother Robert Bingham moved the school to Asheville.
