Story

Thomas Samuel Ashe moved to Hale County in 1820 when his family relocated there. He returned to North Carolina for his education. He studied at at the Bingham School in Hillsborough and at the University of North Carolina. He moved to Anson County in 1836. He was the grandson of Governor Samuel Ashe. His aunts lived in Ashe House [1].

Thomas Samuel Ashe was born June of 1812, in Hawfields, NC. He died on February 4, 1887, and was buried in East View Cemetery, Wadesboro, NC [1].
