Martha Torrans was the mother of Sarah Eliza Grice  who attended the Burwell School around 1848.

Story

Martha was the daughter of Elizabeth  "Betsey"  Ann Faison and Col. Thomas Torrans. Elizabeth Faison was the sister of William Alexander  "Billie"  Faison. Her paretns were James Faison (1753-1812) and Mary Hollingsworth.

Martha Ann Torrans was born on February 14, 1810, in Duplin County, NC. She died c. 1834, and was buried in Sampson County, NC.
