Susan Henrietta Moore is the daughter of Susan Eagles and U S Supreme Court Justice Alfred Moore (1755-1810), the brother of her husband’s grandmother Sallie Moore Nash; thus, her husband is her cousin.

Susan’s mother, Susan Eagles Moore, is buried in the family cemetery at Moorefields.

Susan’s sister Elizabeth Davis Moore married Susan’s husband Hugh Waddell’s brother Francis Nash Waddell; after marriage, Elizabeth and Francis lived near Hillsborough at Justice Moore’s family home, Moorefields where they are buried.

According to her obituary in the Charlotte Democrat, August 8, 1879, Susan H. Waddell, widow of Hon. Hugh Waddell, “was a noble, good woman, and lived a long and useful life.”
