This student appears in the roster of authenticated Burwell School student compiled by Mary Claire Engstrom and published in The Book of Burwell Students. She attened the Burwell School with her sister, Ann Eliza Moore .

Story

Born in 1837, Mary Francis Moore was the daughter of Mary Gray Moore and Stephen Moore. She had eight brothers and sisters. She and her sister Ann attended the Burwell School in 1850. During the Moore family’s residence in Hillsborough, their father operated a general store just off Churton Street, one door west of Kirkland’s Corner. He was a Whig in the 1840s and was active in community affairs serving on the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners, the Orange County Common School Board, and the board of the Hillsborough Female Academy. He supported the temperance movement and was a prominent member of the Orange County Bible Society.

She may have moved with her family to Arkansas in 1852-1853.

There is no record of her death.
