Peace Institute

Peace Institute, founded in 1857 but not opened until 1872, in Raleigh was a boarding school for Presbyterian girls. The Rev. Robert Armistead Burwell and his son served as principal; following their tenure the principal was the Rev. Dinwiddie and his wife, Burwell alumna Bettie Carrington Dinwiddie.

Peace Institute is now Peace College.
