According to the History of the Michael Brown Family of Rowan County NC by Richard L. Brown, Elizabeth Brown had three stepchildren from her first marriage, not listed here, had dozens of descendents also not listed here. Please note there are several Betty Brown listings in Rowan County for this time, but this is the only one with a C middle initial; Mrs. Burwell referred to her student as Betty C. Brown. As an adult, Betty C. Brown used her middle name Commila [1].
