Alexander Wood Mebane

Dr. Alexander Wood Mebane was educated in Philidelphia. In addition to being a physician and serving in the NC House of Commons and he operated fisheries. In 1833 purchased from James Reed “dwelling house…on Chowan River…containing 1,050 acres…with fishery." [1]
