Nannie married William Sterling Roulhac (18 March 1851 - 17 July 1884). He was her cousin and the son of Catherine Ruffin and Joseph Blount Gregoire Roulhac, Sr. They had two children, Alice and William Sterling Roulhac. After Nannie’s death, John Wilson Brodnax lived in Hillsborough with his grandson William [1].

Story

Nannie's mother died the year Nannie was born. After her mother's death, Nannie was reared primarily by her mother’s sisters Alice Roane and Sarah (Sally) Nash Ruffin at the Ruffin home in Hillsborough and figured prominently in establishing the Ladies Sewing Society at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church [2].
