Emily Vanderford was the daughter of Sarah Williams (b. 1814) and William Vanderford (b. 1811). William worked as a blacksmith. Emily had two siblings: Delburnia Vanderford, born in 1842, and Louisa Vanderford, born in 1844 [1].
